The idea

Deep bass. Shallow footprint.

Subwoofer One rethinks where bass comes from. Four high-excursion drivers work together inside a cabinet just 15 centimetres deep, so serious low-frequency weight fits against a wall, under a bench or beside a sideboard.

The drivers sit in a manifold layout that keeps the enclosure remarkably inert, so the room hears bass and not a buzzing box. Dual slot ports move air with minimal turbulence, and an extended response from 40 to 500 Hz blends seamlessly upward. With 88 dB sensitivity and a 4 ohm load it is easy to drive, while 160 watts RMS of power handling gives it real headroom. Removable rubber feet let it stand upright or lie flat. In AudioCrypt Sensory Fusion it is the foundation, time aligned by DSP with the room resonance and the bench resonance, built for the APOLLON frequencies.

01Highlights

Why it stands out

  1. 01

    Four-driver manifold

Four high-excursion 4 inch drivers share the work. Together they move the air of a far larger single cone from a cabinet only 15 centimetres deep.

  2. 02

    Inert by design

The manifold driver layout mitigates unwanted vibration and resonance, keeping the enclosure quiet so only clean bass reaches the room.

  3. 03

    Low profile

At 40.6 x 43 x 15 centimetres it slips against a wall, under furniture or into a bench where a conventional cube subwoofer never could.

  4. 04

    Upright or flat

Removable rubber feet let it stand vertically or lie horizontally, so placement follows the room and not the other way round.

  5. 05

    Dual slot ports

Two slot ports extend the low end while minimising air turbulence, for weight without chuffing or port noise.

  6. 06

    Extended response

From 40 Hz up to 500 Hz, wide enough to hand over to compact satellites without a gap in the midbass.

  7. 07

    Easy to drive

88 dB sensitivity and a 4 ohm load mean strong output from modest amplification, with 160 watts RMS of handling in reserve.

  8. 08

    Matched cohesion

Identical high-excursion drivers throughout give a uniform, cohesive character across the whole bass range.

  9. 09

    Proper connections

Conventional speaker terminals accept bare wire, banana plugs or forks for a secure, universal connection.

  10. 10

    Part of Sensory Fusion

The foundation of AudioCrypt Sensory Fusion, on its own Amp MK1 channel and time aligned with the room resonance and the bench resonance.

02Technology

The manifold principle

Instead of one large cone in a deep box, Subwoofer One arranges four high-excursion drivers in a manifold pattern around a central square. The front of every cone plays into that square and out through the front opening. The back of every cone loads the surrounding chamber, which breathes through two bass ports at the bottom, left and right. Both waves meet in the room, so the bass energy goes where you listen, while the opposed layout keeps the enclosure remarkably inert.

Finish

A clean black cabinet with a subtle textured surface and a flush square grille. No visual noise, nothing to catch the eye, so it blends into any interior.

Construction

Four identical high-excursion drivers in a manifold arrangement make the enclosure very inert to unwanted vibration, with dual slot ports for smooth, quiet air flow.

Placement

Removable rubber feet mount on the long or short side, so the cabinet stands upright or lies flat, against a wall, under furniture or built into a bench.

Upright Laid flatRemovable rubber feetfit either side:one cabinet, both installs.
Two orientations: upright against a wall or beside furniture, laid flat under furniture or inside a bench.
